Little Room Jazz Club Key West

Little Room Jazz Club is the dark and intimate jazz bar on Duval Street, Key West with live music every night from 8pm, it's a good place to chill and is well worth a few hours and a few drinks. They have a very generous happy hour from 1pm to 8pm (2 for 1). It's called a jazz bar but the music policy is very broad: the music on the balcony is soul/Motown (the nights I was there anyway, I'm sure it changes) and inside there is a different live group on every night so depending on your night can be jazz, soul, reggae, country or a mix of all. I love this place as it's a bit different, a good alternative to the louder/trashier/super busy live music scene down the other (Front Street) end of Duval Street. It's also a really nice looking bar inside, and they have a great terrace sitting area outside with a perfect (and raised) view of the madness of Duval Street.

There is also the fact that the music is good. Here are some examples of the nights I was there:

I was there in January 2014, went 3 nights and it was never that busy so it's amazing it has stayed open as long as it has. In my opinion, they don't do themselves any favors: with the most expensive white wine by the glass is only $10 (why not have a few glasses at a super premium and become a kind of wine bar/jazz club combo?) and they don't really make a big thing outside of what's happening live on the stage. Also not sure "Little Room" is the right name. Anyway, they deserve to be busier and I hope they stay for many years to come.

  1. Another "Hidden" gem on Upper Duval St. One of my favourite "quieter/grown up" bars in Key West.
